Out of curiosity, I conducted a little survey of home inspection prices in Minnesota. I contacted a bunch of Minnesota home inspectors with ASHI, NAHI, and InterNACHI to gather information on home inspection prices.
I based the price of the inspection on a 2000 sf house built in 1990, selling for $300k. I found the home inspectors by using the zip code search at the ASHI, NAHI, and InterNachi web sites, using a zip code of 55401. If the home inspector had pricing information on their web site, I got the information that way. If they didn’t, I sent them an email asking what they would charge for this home inspection.

Yes, there is a wide variety of prices, because of the come along lately home inspectors trying to out bid or lower their prices just to get a home inspection. Many are not even that good and I wind up having to do the inspection because so many items were missing. I guess you pay for what you get.
