I’ve been teaching a 2.5 hour continuing ed class to real estate agents for the past two years, and I’m offering the same class again this year.
The focus of this class is on some of the most mis-understood home inspection topics. I cover a lot of common home inspection topics that come up, and I differentiate between items that are a big deal and a little deal. The official name of the class is “Home Inspection Horrors and How to Fix Them.” Topics include:
- Negotiations after the inspection
- Problems with flipped houses
- What’s the big deal about a cracked heat exchanger?
- Furnace certification / safety check / service call… what’s the difference?
- What’s the concern with double tapped circuit breakers, really?
- Federal Pacific Electric panels
- Aluminum Wiring
- How to spot a buried fuel oil tank
- Ice dam myths
- Radon myths
- Top deck defects
- Stone veneer siding, the new stucco?
- New construction defects
I have several classes coming up in the near future. All real estate agents are welcome to any of these classes, regardless of location or agency. Here’s a list of upcoming dates and locations for this class:
